senior project links

our project is on my student server.

our theme was a year book page and the theme was multicultural. We all helped take pictures and helped put things together. the hardest part was getting people to want to take pictures for the yearbook and give a quote. the easiest was just putting it all together.

presentation

My capstone presentation went well. The judges asked some not really hard questions. They liked my shirt idea, so that went well. the experience was stressful. I was always stressed. I liked looking around and seeing other's project. The hardest was probably about right before and getting set up for everything having to run around.

Presentation Assets

I will have a table cloth, two computers, my shirts, tri fold poster, and my poster. One of the computers will have my website on it and the other will be showing my PSA on it. I will have extra shirts on that night to sell to anyone that wants to buy one. I am hoping my shirts will catch their eyes.

Infographic Poster

My poster relates to my project because I am trying to bring awareness of how many rape cases went unsolved in 2013. Also I put the phone number to the hotline because that is the place I am going to donate the money to. No I did not have to get more research. The hardest part was tracing the Dallas Skyline. The easiest was just typing everything on there. I had one in winter term but I changed a lot of my capstone so I made a new on this semester. I just have to move some words mover so they do not get cut off during the printing.

poster ideas

ideas:
Put the statistics that I found for rape cases in Dallas County in 2013.
The background could be the Dallas Skyline.
Put where someone could get help if they saw or did get raped.
Say how much rape kits cost to test and how we can help.

Skeleton:
I do not know how I want to lay it out just yet but what is above is the kind of stuff that is going to be in it. I was thinking about putting the facts in circles to make them pop out.

PSA reflection

I addressed my statement of intent in my PSA by adding statistics that showed how many rapes happened in Dallas county in 2013. yes it meant all of the requirements. I would of started earlier instead of watching a lot of videos about after effects. The hardest thing was learning after effects and to not make the words blurry when they move on and out of the slide. Nothing was easy in this project it was all difficult to do.

PSA Intent

On the article about how to create a PSA video really helped. You have to use emotion in your video to tug at peoples heart so that they can take it serious. Also make it relate able to the age group you are targeting. making it something that they would relate to can help them understand why it is so important to what you are trying to convey.

I like it because of the way they used the text to convey their message, but i do not have to use the voice over.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swDbbvsBPX0

This is a good video because it shows you what one bad thing can lead to another bad thing. I might have been a little weird but it can show people that doing one bad thing there is more bad in it.

My PSA:

The key points will be the amount of crime that goes unsolved. There will be a range from murder to rape.

The audio will be serious because the whole subject is serious. I will also use text to get my message across.

My PSA will be a serious because of the subject so I am thinking about doing a video with text and having a serious song. I am thinking that this might help open people's eyes about what is going on and make them think about ways we can change it.

Like I said I want to use text to promote my message. There will be statistics of the amount of crime that is going unsolved. This video will give facts to tell people what is going on in our society. Also I want to have a serious song in the background. I am hoping with all of the seriousness that people will really realize how many cases are going unsolved. I am also hoping it might pull on people's emotions.

Capstone Project Statement of Intent

The goals to my capstone project is to bring awareness to how many criminal cases go unsolved each year. I want to try to help bring the amount of cold cases down.

It is important because each year so many families have to deal with their loved ones not getting the justice they deserve for whatever happened to them. There is a huge amount of cases that go unsolved each year and just imagine what those families have to go through.

This fits with my career goals because I want to be a forensic biologist and I want to help solve as many cases as I can because no family deserves not knowing who hurt their loved ones.

My project gives back to society by showing the amount of cold cases each year and trying to put a stop to the amount of crimes getting by. By reducing the cold cases it might reduce the crime rate in general.
